Promotion engine - settings
Promotion engine settings allow you to manage configurations for promotion evaluation and execution.

In the left navigation panel, expand Admin and select Configuration Settings.

Select Promotion Engine. The following screen will appear:

The promotion engine settings include 'Loyalty Card Special Pricing', 'GS1 Coupon', 'Best Deal Evaluation', and 'Loyalty Membership Benefit' allowing you to establish priority levels for special pricing rewards, store and manufacturer coupons, best deals on items, and loyalty benefits.
Loyalty card special pricing
Loyalty card special pricing allows you to offer special prices on items for loyalty members. To allow special pricing for products when the store is offline and to set a priority, follow these steps:

Click on Loyalty Card Special Pricing drop-down. The following screen appears:

By default, offline redemptions for special pricing is set to No. To allow any-cardholder to redeem rewards when the store is offline, select Yes.

The default priority for special pricing is 'Manual Manufacturer Coupon Adjustment'. Select the preferred priority for special pricing from the drop-down.

Click Save Changes. The following popup will appear:

Click Save. A message 'Successfully saved promotion engine settings' will appear on the Promotion Engine Settings page.
GS1 coupon
The GS1 coupons are barcode-based paper and digital coupons that are scanned to redeem offers at the POS. Follow these steps to set the priority for GS1 coupons:

Click on the GS1 Coupon drop-down.

The GS1 coupon is categorized into two types:
- Manufacturer GS1 Coupon
- Store GS1 Coupon

The default priority for Manufacturer GS1 Coupon is 'GS1 Manufacturer Coupon', and 'Manual Manufacturer Coupon Adjustment' for the Store GS1 Coupon. Select the preferred priority for the Manufacturer GS1 Coupon and Store GS1 Coupon from the drop-down menus.

By default, the Manufacturer GS1 Coupon is validated using 'Both manufacturer and family codes'. Choose how you want to validate the Manufacturer GS1 Coupon from the Validate manufacturer coupon using drop-down.

Both manufacturer and family codes: Considers both the codes to validate the coupon.

Only manufacturer code: Considers only the manufacturer code to validate the coupon.

Click Save Changes. The following popup will appear:

The popup will display the coupons that have been updated in the GS1 Coupon settings.
Click Save. A message 'Successfully saved promotion engine settings' is displayed on the Promotion Engine Settings page.
Best deal evaluation
The best deal evaluates temporary price reduction (TPR) and cost plus promotions at an item level when they are set to the same priority to provide the maximum discount.

By default, the best deal evaluation is set to No. Select Yes to apply the best deals among markup on cost and TPR promotions.
Loyalty Membership Benefit
Once the customer finishes scanning all items and is ready to pay, the POS displays a notification showing the dollar amount saved and the points earned from the transaction.

Click on the Loyalty Membership Benefit dropdown. The following screen will appear:

By default, 'Notify customer of the points/money they could have earned/saved' is set to 'No'. Select 'Yes' and configure the message to display it as a notification to the customer.

In the text editor, type your message in the default language tab (active by default) or switch to the additional language tab to enter it in another language. Include at least one tag ‘You could have saved’ or ‘You could have earned’ and use the formatting options in the header to style your message.

Click Save Changes to save the setting.
Button navigations
While configuring the settings of the promotion engine, switching between modules without saving changes will display a popup message.
For example:

Click Discard to discard the settings, or click Cancel to stay on the current page.
