Mutual Exclusion Groups (MEGs)
MEG refers to a grouping or set of promotions that cannot be triggered at the same time under certain constraints. MEGs are created at the admin level and are linked to promotions. They allow placing exclusion rules around an offer based on two mutually exclusive group types:
-
Item level
-
Offer level
When multiple items are scanned in a transaction:
Item-level - When two or more offers are exclusive at the item level, they cannot use the same item to satisfy their product conditions.
Offer level - If multiple offers are active within a single transaction, only one of these offers can be applied to the transaction.
